CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ON STEM
Bal Vikas Progressive School successfully organised a CBSE Capacity Building Workshop on STEM on 17 January 2025 with the objective of strengthening teachers’ understanding and implementation of STEM-based education. The workshop was conducted by Dr Reetika Bhandari, a certified CBSE National Resource Person, Head of the Department of Chemistry at GJPS, New Delhi, who brought rich academic expertise and practical insights to the session. The workshop focused on integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through experiential and inquiry-based learning. Teachers actively participated in a range of hands-on activities such as problem-solving tasks, design-thinking challenges, interdisciplinary lesson planning, real-life STEM applications, model-making, and collaborative group discussions. These activities enabled teachers to explore innovative pedagogical strategies, promote critical thinking, and design learner-centric classrooms aligned with NEP 2020. The session was highly interactive, encouraging teachers to reflect on their classroom practices and adopt STEM approaches to enhance student engagement and conceptual understanding. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Principal of the school, Mrs Anupama Shah, who expressed her gratitude to the resource person and participants, and strongly emphasised the importance of adopting a STEM-based education system to equip students with 21st-century skills in today’s rapidly evolving world.
